What Is WZO and AZM

Providing Support Where It’s Needed Most.

The World Zionist Organization (WZO), established in 1897 by Theodor Herzl, serves as the global body uniting Jews to strengthen Israel as the Jewish homeland and foster Jewish identity and unity. The American Zionist Movement (AZM) acts as the U.S. branch, representing 46 national Jewish groups and ensuring American Jewish voices influence the WZO’s initiatives.

Keren Kayemet LeIsrael (KKL)

Keren Kayemet LeIsrael (KKL), also known as the Jewish National Fund, is a cornerstone of the WZO. With a $1 billion annual budget, KKL supports transformative projects, including programs for soldiers, youth at risk, environmental preservation, and special needs initiatives. As a Board of Director at KKL, Davidi Ben Zion, founder of Achdut Israel, plays a significant role in directing resources toward transformative initiatives that strengthen Israel and global Jewish communities. Our hope is that KKL will support Achdut Israel’s efforts to provide supplemental aid to soldiers and their families, addressing their urgent needs during challenging times.

The World Zionist Congress and Its Impact

The World Zionist Congress, the "Parliament of the Jewish People," convenes every five years in Jerusalem to allocate $1 Billion to projects and set priorities for Israel and global Jewish communities. With one-third of its delegates elected by Diaspora Jews, including American voters, the Congress plays a pivotal role in deciding how resources are distributed to vital programs.

Each vote helps decide the allocation of resources for essential programs, including providing proactive self-defense training for Jewish communities and supporting soldiers and their families who face significant challenges during long deployments. Voting is also an opportunity to strengthen the bond between Israel and the American Jewish community, ensuring a united and resilient Jewish future.
