The World Zionist Congress (WZO), established in 1897 by Theodor Herzl, serves as the global body uniting Jews to strengthen Israel as the Jewish homeland and foster Jewish identity and unity. The Congress, often referred to as the "Parliament of the Jewish People," convenes every five years in Jerusalem to allocate funding and set priorities for Israel and global Jewish communities.

The Congress, plays a pivotal role in shaping priorities and allocating resources for initiatives that impact Jews worldwide. These include supporting soldiers, youth at risk, environmental preservation, and special needs initiatives. Decisions made at the Congress influence programs that strengthen Israel and foster resilience within Jewish communities globally.

Delegates to the World Zionist Congress are elected by Jewish communities worldwide. One-third of the Congress’s delegates come from Diaspora communities, including the United States, while the rest are from Israel. Jewish individuals register to vote, pay a small fee, and select a slate or party, such as Achdut Israel, that represents their values. The elected delegates then participate in the Congress to shape policies and funding decisions.

The Congress comprises representatives from Israel and Jewish communities worldwide.

Over 20 slates, or parties, participate in the electoral process, each representing diverse values and priorities.

Achdut Israel is running to address the most pressing and immediate issues facing Jews worldwide. The devastating events of October 7 marked a turning point, leaving soldiers, their families, and those who have become disabled due to the war in urgent need of support to rebuild their lives. These individuals and families are the root of the Jewish nation's strength, and they require essential resources to recover and thrive.

While efforts focused on deepening understanding of Jewish history and the global Jewish experience are important, the current crisis demands immediate action to address its symptoms: displaced families, orphaned children, and widows left with little support. Achdut Israel is committed to directing resources where they are most needed right now, ensuring that those who have sacrificed so much can get back on their feet with dignity and hope.

Jewish individuals register to vote and select a slate that aligns with their values. Votes are then tallied, and the representation of each slate in the Congress is determined proportionally.
